 Liz Butler- SNL

Liz was born and raised in Puerto Rico, attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and have lived in Memphis for the last 7+ years, "which probably explains the reason no one can ever place my accent. I am married to a wonderful man who wholeheartedly supports my scrapbooking obsession. I have two beautiful children who treat me like I'm the paparazzi and run from me as soon as they see me coming with the camera. And I have the unconditional love and affection of our two dogs and two cats. I started scrapbooking four years ago after the birth of my first child. I wanted more than just a photo album, I wanted to be able to record her stories. So I walked into Eclectica overwhelmed and scared to death, only to discover an unbelievable passion for all things paper. The rest, as they say, is history. Being that it all began at Eclectica, I cannot tell you how honored I am to be a part of such a wonderful team. I cannot wait to share my passion for scrapbooking with you.

Mary McCullar- certified copic marker instructor

Mary is a retired Spanish teacher that taught for 43 years. She has lived in Bartlett most of her life. She attended and taught at Bartlett High school. Mary shared that she has been married to her husband Gene for 41 years. They do not have any children, but they do have 2 wonderful Siamese cats who are almost 16 years old. When asked about why she does what she does, Mary responded: “I have always been interested in crafting. I have gone through several phases - knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, Tole painting, water coloring, decoupaging, wood crafting, beading and paper cafting. I began making cards several years ago when I had a friend who was terminally ill. It was impossible to find anything except a "Get Well" card. So,, I began to make my own. When Copics arrived on the scene, I reluctantly took a class. I was determined not to buy any more markers! After one class, I was hooked.”  Mary stated that she teaches because she enjoys working with people, she enjoys teaching and she loves Copic Markers. She also said she likes the challenge of doing new things. She is inspired by students requests for certain pictures to color and that Eclectica provides a great opportunity for her to do this. So join Mary in her upcoming classes and let her teach you how to “Cullar” your world with Copic Markers.

  Andrea Manard- mixed media

Andrea Manard is a self-taught mixed media artist based in Memphis. She has been creating paintings, art objects, and jewelry for the last 12 years. Her work has appeared in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, along with instructional articles she has written, and she has a piece currently on the cover of their 2012 calendar. She also appeared on HGTV’S “That’s Clever” October 2011. We are excited to have her join our Eclectica family!
When asked about her style and type of art, Andrea responded "Mixed media art, mostly collage using vintage papers." I have a huge collection of vintage and vintage-looking papers and objects that I use in my work, and a lot of my inspiration comes from these materials. Everything I collect speaks to me in some way. All of these vintage materials have lived a long life, and you can see traces of their history in the wear from years of use. I like to daydream about where these often discarded items have been and when an imagined story whispers in the back of my mind, a piece of art is born. In addition to the materials themselves, I am inspired by nature and history (especially Memphis history), books, music, and tv (which I consume in mass quantities!), and I am especially inspired by things like science, maps, numbers, anything technical.

Chelsea Rogers- SNL, mini albums and gifts

Jennifer Mueler- SNL

Tara Smith- paper flowers, altered art, gifts and mini albums

While Tara's projects and smile are no stranger to us at Eclectica, We are proud to introduce her as Eclectica's newest instructor. Tara has been working with paper arts for 15 plus years. She is a busy mother of 4 and loves that scrapbooking preserves the memories and the love of family.    Tara has a Masters in Mental Health Therapy and has specialized in using art to work with children in the field. When asked about this focus, Tara responded, "I find that paper arts and scrapbooking can be so beneficial, healing and therapuetic for the mind and soul".  Tara's style is very textured and hands on and she believes in accepting even the "mistakes" as special and unique attributes of yourself, the artist. "I am passionate about paper arts and am blessed to have found Eclectica and to be able to share my passion with others.
